About the Artist

HI! I'm Vanessa Preston, a self-taught artist and author living in Newcastle, Australia.

I create whimsical mixed-media art and large colourful abstract paintings that tell stories of hope, inspiration, personal journeys towards thriving and exploring possibilities.

I’m inspired by the mountains and the sea, trees and rockpools. I love deep conversations and introspection and I'm a writer, so it’s not surprising that my art is infused with layers of symbolism, metaphors and meaning. My passion is to encourage people to see themselves through a softer lens so they can flourish and fly.
